Dress delay?

Is anyone else having issues with their dress arriving as scheduled? I ordered a Casablanca gown through a local bridal shop in September 2019 and it’s still not here. Wedding is on October 24th.


Shortly after COVID started, I checked in with the shop to see if my dress was impacted. Shop owner said yes but only delaying delivery by 1-2 weeks.
Fast forward to May, the owner said that my dress should arrive mid-June/early July.
When my dress didn’t arrive as scheduled, I called the shop and they said “don’t worry. It’ll be here before your wedding. Brides with earlier dates are priority right now and getting dresses first”. Sorry but not sorry, my dress was fully paid for in September 2019 so I would expect more of an update than that. The shop had absolutely no details regarding new delivery dates. So frustrating!
Anyone else going through a similar issue or have any tips?

    I ordered my Casablanca dress through a local bridal shop in November 2019, and it arrived March 2020 for my (now postponed) wedding on July 31, 2020, though I did not customize it at all. When was your dress originally estimated to arrive? Did the shop actually place the order for the dress in September? If so, that seems like an excessive amount of time for the dress to arrive... Not sure if you had any customizations on your gown (if so, that may have delayed it), though I would keep checking in with the dress shop weekly. You still have some time before your wedding, so I wouldn't fully panic yet, but if it doesn't come in by sometime in August, I recommend that you request compensation from the dress shop. That is super frustrating. I hope your dress arrives soon!

    I ordered Casablanca in June 2019 and it didn’t come until December 2019. Three months late and they blamed the designer for having to redo the back and skirt length. It was a joke.

    I'm so sorry Jessica - that stinks! From how early you placed your order I'd have thought you'd have your dress by now, even with covid-19 delays. I'd try to press your salon for an update from the designer specifically for your dress, given how long it's taken already!
