What's the proper wording for sundress and khaki formality?

Unless you are having a black tie event, you don't declare a dress code. Use venue, time of day, and style of invitation communicate the formality. Then don't worry about what others wear.

It's only going on the website, not the invites. Given that I already have family asking what to wear even though save the dates haven't gone out... And it's ten months away 😂

If it's going on the website, I'd just say "your favorite sundress or khakis are welcome." Trying to come up with some dress code term only confuses people. One person's dressy casual is another's semi formal is another's casual. I recently attended a wedding that requested garden party formal or tea party best or some nonsense like that. People showed up in everything from their Sunday best to high school homecoming dresses to evening gowns. The men had it easier, they all showed up in light colored suits or navy blazers and slacks, but the families and wedding party were in tuxedos at 11 am.

This. Your examples, sun dress, khakis, communicates something everyone can picture and use as a guideline, better than some amorphous, undefined term like sunny weather casual. ( In an email invite to us to someone's outdoor 26 th anniversary party.) Or relaxed country club attire. Huh?

We've already had a lot of people (mostly my family) ask us about the dress code and we're telling them to wear their Sunday best! For them, that generally means khakis and sundresses, and most of them have been like "oh cute, because you guys are getting married on a Sunday" Smiley smile

I agree with Mim, it gives a good visual for the website. If you say something casual that might mean jeans to people and idk if you want jeans.
