Dress change?

Amy, on September 2, 2019 at 6:35 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 5
So I never in a million years thought I'd be one of the brides who changes her mind once she bought a dress. We're on a tight budget and I got a great deal on a Maggie Sottero. Lovely dress for around $100. In the pictures it looked like tons of lace, corset back and I loved it. In person, the lace is also accented by silver rhinestones and sequins. Still a lovely dress. But my accent color is gold. Some of my girls might even be wearing a matte gold for their dresses, or a burgundy. I feel like ivory and gold would work so much better.

Am I over thinking this? We're using all muted fall colors and gold as out theme. Has amy one done this with a bright white dress with silver accents? Does anyone agree that an ivory dress with gold accents ( like my tiara) would be more fitting?

Curious for opinions. I broke the news to my soon to be and he said as long as I sold the other dress, he was okay with me buying a new one in ivory. I've found one I like, custom made for around $150...

Maybe look into dying the dress to an ivory color. The addition of silver won't really matter.

My dress is sottero and midgley jarret and it's light gold...however, it's really a shade of ivory with silver sequined tulle. One of my main colors is gold and I'm still going with it.

I don't think the accent colors necessarily need to match! Do you have a close-up photo of the dress?

Hey Amy! I’m really sorry that you are feeling this way about your dress. Do you have a photograph of your dress from when you previously tried it on?

Have you discussed your issues with a seamstress? Would it be possible to have the silver rhinestones removed? Do you think this would fix you worry about your dress, or do you have your heart set on getting this new dress?

I think I have my heart set on a different dress. At least just ivory, even if it didn't have gold on it. I haven't found anything i like yet though! Thankfully i have over a year. I'm a planner though...
