Dress blues

What do you do when you don’t like your wedding dress anymore? Do you bite the bullet and pay for a new one or do you fire your photographer so you don’t have to see the dress anymore?

I would first see if there is anything you can do to make you love this dress again. What specifically do you dislike now? Try to focus on specific elements of the dress and perhaps one of those can be changed.

Has it already been altered to fit? That can make a huge difference and some people fall back in love with their dress when it fits like it should. Steaming it might help the sleeves fall properly I'd they are not already (can't tell from your photo).

It also looks like the skirt does not poof out the same as it does on the picture where the model is wearing it. If you are looking for a real ballgown look, you could try adding a petticoat to give it that extra volume boost.

If you still hate your dress then get a new one. I hope this helps. You are not alone and many other brides get dress regret. ❤️

This is just me, but if I hated my dress I would buy a new one. I would just never feel comfortable or beautiful on my wedding day if I were wearing a dress that I absolutely hated.
Now, if there was just an aspect about the dress that I disliked, I would speak to a seamstress to see what the options were to fix that one aspect. Or, if I just found it a little too plain, I would experiment with accessories to see if that solved the issue.
But, if I just despised the dress itself, I know no amount of alterations or accessories would fix that, so I would look for a dress that I felt Beautiful and confident in.

I have been through this. I bought two and hated them. Then just bought the one I loved and never looked back. If money is an issue I would see what embellishments I could add to the dress I have. Which btw I love the gown you have. Maybe you can add some rhinestones, appliqués or a sash?

I started to hate my wedding dress a few months after getting it. I made an accessory appt and found a lot of different ways to style it and it looked better with the added belt and jewelry. Good luck!

In my excitement at being engaged, I bought a dress a year before my wedding date. This allowed plenty of time for doubts to build up (and my waistline to bulge - when I tried it on a couple of months ago it would no longer fasten). So I bought another.

I know if you want to order a new dress from a designer you have to plan in advance, but personally I think buying a sample/ready to wear dress nearer the time is a lot less stressful if you're the type to be indecisive. You've had some good advice above. Make sure it's not just FOMO talking (I think almost everyone questions their dress choice at least once!) and buy a new one if you have to.
