Dress blues or Dress whites

Stacy, on January 15, 2020 at 4:23 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 5
My fiancé just recently retired from the Navy after 21 years. I wanted him to wear his dress whites but didn’t even think about how it may clash with my ivory dress. We are eloping in St John virgin island in May. Would it be better if I had him wear his dress blues even tho it’s Spring time? Or should I just nix the idea of him in uniform?

I think his dress whites would look great. Stick with the uniform, whichever color you choose!

I'm wearing Ivory/Champagne (looks like blush), and he's wearing a white shirt with off-white pants. I think if your guy wears white it should be fine and look great. Both of you will stand out as the married couple!

I think whites will look better on the beach, to be honest. Feel like the blues would be more harsh against the Caribbean colors. I think the ivory and whites will look fine together.

I would check with your groom because there are regulations that stipulate what uniform he should wear. Even though he is retired, he still has to follow proper protocol for his uniform.
