Dress and Venue Opinions?

Sammie, on May 12, 2019 at 12:43 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 18
I absolutely loved this dress and knew it was the one when I saw it online. I went to the first store that I knew carried it and tried it on. I did buy the dress and I love it but now I am worried if it is going to look right with my venue. It is such a big flowy dress and my venue isn't super large. Thoughts? Am I worried over nothing? #1 priority is to get a dress you love, and love on your body! You can consider removing a layer of crinoline, if you’d like it less poofy.

Dang, that bodice is killer on you! ❤️

First of all that dress is gorgeous and is very flattering on you! Secondly I don’t think it’s too big for your venue at all. It looks like the only slight time you might have to watch out for people stepping on is when you’re on/in front of the little stage in your ceremony area. But the reception room looks pretty roomy so I wouldn’t worry about that.

Thank you! I was worried about the ceremony steps because they seem small and then the reception. But I could be just over thinking it! 😂

I think as long as you have your wedding parties stand off to the sides and reserve the stage for you, fs, and officiant, you’ll be totally fine! I know the ballgown style can feel super big even when it’s not because we are not used to wearing something like that🙂

You look AMAZING in that dress and I absolutely love the detail on the bodice! I don't think it is too big for the venue at all! When I first read your post, before seeing the photos, I was expecting your venue to be a small 30 people max venue. I think you may just be over thinking it and I say wear the dress you love and rock it on your wedding day!

I think getting the dress you love is the most important thing. I’m also wearing a ball gown in an outdoor ceremony, which will be in a clearing in the woods, so not the typical dress choice. But it will look great because I will be feeling confident in the dress I love.

Amazing dress! That bodice is amazing on you! I don't think it's too big for the venue - as long as you love what you're wearing everything else will fall into place!

It's gorgeous on you. I can relate. My gown is 5ft wide away from my body. I'm going to need to be careful. I'm leaving mine poufy. Love your gown!! The Elizabethan waistline is very flattering. ❤

Wait for the dress to arrive in your size before you decide. When it comes in, ask the seamstress (or a friend), to gather the crinoline and shove it between your legs then squeeze your legs together. Then you’ll see how the dress looks less poofy before you remove it (they do that at bridal shops if a bride loves a dress but wishes it was less full).

First of all, you look amazing!

I've never planned to match an outfit to a building.

NO!!! You’re dress is not too big at all... and your venue isn’t small. Based on your description, I had something very different in mind. But then I saw the pics. Looks great to me!

First things first, you look gorgeous and very happy in that dress. Congratulations! As for if it will fit with the venue, it looks like it's made for that venue. It's absolutely perfect!

That dress is amazing and you look gorgeous. I think you will be fine the venue is also beautiful - just tell everyone give you space so they aren't stepping on the dress but I honestly don't think that will be an issue. ROCK THAT DRESS GIRL Smiley smile

No problem! To see how it would kinda look, tuck the crinoline in between your legs. Not exact but can help.
