Dress alterations

Chelsea, on June 23, 2020 at 9:06 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 6
My wedding is 11/14/20. My dress came yesterday and I absolutely love it! What month should I take my dress in for alterations and fitting?

I would go in September. It could take 4-6 weeks and you want some wiggle room.

My original wedding date was November. They recommended I start dress alterations mid August. 6-8weeks is a good average of time to do alterations.

Honestly I would call and ask them. With COVID they might be taking a lot longer because of the backlog.

David’s wouldn’t allow me to get my alterations prior to 8 weeks before the wedding.
So my appointment is at the end of September.

Yay, so exciting!!! I'd say late August to early September. However, your best bet would be to reach out to whoever is altering it and ask - some places have different turnover times and might require a few weeks more as opposed to others. COVID also should be taken into consideration because it might be impacting the entire situation. Congrats 🥰
