Dress alterations

Sara, on August 6, 2019 at 10:37 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 7
Hey! Did anyone ever feel nervous the day before their dress alterations? Yesterday I was a wreck about not loving it and also that it wouldn’t fit me. I had custom measured to fit me but I felt like I gained weight. Since this was the first time I’m trying on my dress and not the sample. I have been a nervous wreck just thinking about having to put it on just for it not to fit. I been avoiding the alterations for months! I just want to know if anyone felt that way.

Sort of! I felt really upset and scared because I’ve gained weight but my seamstress made me feel a lot better. Even in a worse case scenario your dress doesn’t fit, they can make it fit! So don’t worry, it’s ok❤️

The whole time I was getting in the dress, I was thinking oh my god it won’t fit and the zipper will break, I haven’t worked out enough. Everything was going through my mind. I’m not overweight but going from being itty bitty to having more on my body, is different. I’m glad I put on more pounds cause I look healthy. It’s just having this dress made and not trying it on in so long, freaked me out. A lot can change in over a year!

Im sure the seamstress will do a great job on your dress! My seamstress made me feel so good! There were places on my dress by my hips/thighs that bunched weird and when she pinned it, it looked weird. She kept asking how long have I worked out for cause I have such muscular legs and I said 5 days but I have been a dancer my whole life. And After she got all the pins in, the dress looked amazing! I am forever grateful of the kind words she said to me.

Exactly! My seamstress made me feel better during the process. It fit perfectly and she still had to pin a couple of spots because they were just a tad too big.

Thank you so much!!! And my seamstress is amazing with trying to figure out my vision and making me feel amzing. I also bought my dress a year ago, and have since then put on some weight. So I got to a point where I didn't feel pretty anymore in my dress, and she definitely helped easy my worries and stress!

Mine seemed like it fit pretty well when it was delivered, but then I waited like 4 months before my first fitting appointment and I was worried it wouldn't fit, or I wouldn't like it, etc. My seamstress ended up taking it in at a bunch of places, so fit definitely wasn't an issue, and I loved it just as much as I had remembered. It's definitely stressful though, especially since there can be so much downtime between trying it on.

I just bought my dress last week and this is already something that's crossed my mind! We have about a year and two months before the wedding, which is a lot of time for things to change. I'm so glad I read your feedback ladies, thank you!!
