Mine was $365 for a five layer lace hem, bustle, bra inserts and cap sleeves. I’ve had a lot of clothes altered and it depends on the fabric and what they’re doing. My work pants are $20, other evening gowns I’ve had altered have been $60-100 for the hem or having them taken in.

That sounds pretty average in terms of costs I’ve seen

Where are you located? What has to be done? It’s pricey here in CA. This is my detailed receipt. With discount as you can see. Not including tip.Dress Alterations 1

That’s pretty average, even a little low depending on what you had done. I paid $480 for a hem and to shorten my straps.

I paid $760 for one and $500 for another. So yeah, that sounds reasonable with a discount.

I paid $495. $350 sounds on the lower end of the normal range for alterations.

I paid 160 for bustle, hem, straps taking in, and under my breast a little material taking in. Sounds like you got a lot done special the cap sleeves so I would assume major work .. my dress only has 3 layers

I paid close to $700, bustle, hem (lace with multiple layers) taking in, adding a modesty panel...I’d be so happy with what you paid!!

That's definitely within reason. Dress alterations can vary widely, but I was told to factor in $200-$500 when I was shopping for my gown, however they said more complex alterations can cost $800 or more. Most brides at minimum need a hem and bustle added, and maybe minor adjustments to the straps, but if you need the dress taken in or have other alterations made the costs can add up. It also depends on how difficult the alterations are - hemming one layer of simple fabric is going to be a lot less expensive than hemming multiple layers and removing and re-attaching lace appliques. Some fabrics are more difficult to work with, some details like ruching and beading can be really tricky to alter. It just depends but $350 does not sound unreasonable at all.

If it makes you feel any better my attractions were $700 and that was for a bustle and gem. I did have a ton of layers and horsehair though.

I was surprised mine cost $600, I thought it would be a lot cheaper bc the length was perfect. Mine was for taking up shoulders, realigning arm hole, lining top, bustle, and swapping pre-attached belt.

I guess that is lot of adjustments πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ. All the itemized prices seemed fair to me.

Mine was around $500 for taking in the waist, adjusting sleeves, hemming, adding bustle and taking in areas that were too loose
