Dress Alteration Question

Kirsten, on March 6, 2022 at 10:09 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 6
I recently my portraits taken and had someone take a couple of picture on their phone so I could get some advice. My dress has been altered in several ways but I’m still let with some bunching/wrinkling at the top due to the lining underneath. The seamstress at the dress shop said there wasn’t much more that could be done without changing the dress. The photographer can edit that for my portrait but I was really hoping for a solution for the wedding. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated because at this point, I don’t know why it’s like this or what to do! Dress Alteration Question 1

I really love the dress! You look beautiful. Can you add (bigger?) cups or more boning?

Your seamstress has gotta be wrong, there is no way this can't be tightened more. Its too large on your bust and waist. Get a second opinion!

Thank you both, I just needed to hear that I wasn’t crazy for being disappointed in this! I agree, there must be something else that can be done. I’m going for a second opinion tomorrow so hopefully they can fix it for me.

It absolutely can be fixed. Its not a single piece, there's darting and seems, so there's plenty of places they can take it in at. It needs to go in at the cups and the sides.

Take it somewhere else. Your dress is way too beautiful for it to look like that in photos (and in real life!). You need to be 100% happy with it! You deserve it!

I would take it to another seamstress. It has darting so it should be able to be fixed. I personally wouldn’t accept the response of not being able to do anything else.
