Dream Dress Doesn't Fit!

Mollie, on October 21, 2019 at 10:11 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 6

Help!

I bought my dream wedding dress from an overseas designer on extreme sample sale discount. It's nicer than everything I ever thought I'd have. However, when I tried it on, it's too small. I can't move my shoulders at all (which means no arm movement whatsoever), and some of the button loops really have to stretch to make it.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how I could fix this? I haven't seen a seamstress yet, but I'm not seeing much of a seam allowance to let it out. Do you think trying to lose weight could help these particular areas?

I think 10 pounds should do it. You have enough time! Good luck!

I would definitely just go to a seamstress and see what they would recommend! You never know! You don't have to starve yourself to fit in a dress.. you can tell you have a nice figure already 😊

From what I can see, it looks so beautiful! Definitely have a consult with a seamstress, it doesn't look like it would have to be taken out that much. As far as trying to lose weight to make it fit.. to be honest it doesn't look like you have anything to lose! Could you try arm toning exercises? That wee bit might do the trick in the shoulders?

Yeah, weight loss is probably not going to shorten the width of your shoulders. See a seamstress. You'd be surprised in what they can do.

Go see a seamstress, they will likely be able to let it out. Don't let people talk you into losing weight you look absolutely fine this is just an issue of the dress fitting to your body shape. Don't lose hope.

Definitely go see seamstress. Trying to lose weight to fit into a dress is waaay too much pressure. And as other pp's have said, you can't lose weight in your shoulders...

This is a different circumstance, but in high school, I bought my prom dress online and when it came in the mail, I could not even step into it!!! The waist was so tiny and the chest area was enormous. I brought it to a seamstress, hoping she could fix it. Somehow, she worked her magic and made it fit like a glove!!! So I'm sure if a seamstress was able to resurrect my prom dress, there has to be one that can fix your gown. Good luck!!!
