Draped Veil?

Jessi, on February 24, 2022 at 10:55 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 14

I originally didn't want a veil at all, but as others have said, I'd hate to regret not wearing one in the end. The main problem is that I just hate the way they look and I don't want to completely cover my hair since that's one of FH's favorite things. After looking I found these draped veils, which I actually think are really pretty and I love that they wouldn't cover all of my hair.

My only problem is that in all of the photos I've seen of them the bride is wearing a more form fitting gown and mine is an a-line that's nearly a ballgown. I'm considering having my seamstress take a little out so it's not quite so poofy, but it's never going to not have some poof. I plan on only getting a fingertip length veil because I don't like the long ones. This is what I plan on having my hair look like (but my hair is almost to my butt) and my dress. Do you think it'll match?

Hey there. Well first off that veil and your dress will look positively stunning please don’t change a thing. I too was it going to wear a veil Until the stylist at the bridal salon suggested I try one and I just fell in love and really felt like a bride. Go for it.

What about a cape in lieu of a veil? That way, you won't cover your hair:Draped Veil? 5

This is exactly what I was thinking of doing (fingertip length draped veil with my a-line dress) and I think it’ll look great! I ended up deciding not to have a veil because my fiancé doesn’t like the idea of veils and the cost seemed to be a lot to me for a pice of fabric that I’ll wear for an hour. But that’s just me, I say go for it and all those styles combined will look great in my mind!

I totally understand that I'm being picky but I just don't love the capes. They look gorgeous in photos but I can't see myself wearing one. I don't mind the bottom of my hair being covered, I'd just like the hair vine and braid(s) I have to stick out a bit more.

The cost is what's been deterring me as well. I've found a few on Etsy that are $60-80 that I'm willing to pay for but it still seems silly at the same time. Thanks for your help!

I'll be wearing my hair half up, half down with braids and a hair vine tucked throughout. Kind of like this picture. I don't mind if the bottom of my hair is covered - that's inevitable with how long it is - but I don't want to cover the hair vine if possible.

I love the look of those veils and those are actually amazing prices on Etsy!
However—I wore a big tulle horsehair ballgown with my hair down and a hair vine halo-style and wore a traditional veil tucked under the hair vine. Most of my hair was visible, and your stylist should know how to make your hair tacky enough to hold without tucking over the vine!
