Downsizing guest list invitations

Before Covid we had already sent out our save the dates to everyone on our guest list (a little early I know, we were eager!) well now since the pandemic is still ongoing and probably will be when our wedding date is here, we have decided it would be best to downsize our guest list from 140 people to 75-85 still not sure what our venue max is. When the time comes to send out invites how would we tell the guests that didn’t make it to the downsize list due to Covid? Would we send a separate announcement through mail, email? Help! Thank you!

    Since everyone is aware of COVID restrictions, most people should be understanding of having to downsize the guest list.

    Agree. Don’t just email- that seems kind of cold. Sending a card in the mail & maybe even a phone call. These are unprecedented times & people are very understanding.

    If you have a website, update it there. Otherwise call people. Emails get lost. Make sure that those who are cut can view the ceremony via Zoom or another service and list the info on your website. That way you aren't entirely cutting them.
