Down the Aisle---need help!

Tina, on September 7, 2019 at 12:39 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 12

I want my 3 sons to walk me down the aisle. They will be 19, 17, & 11 at the time of the ceremony. I was originally planning on having my oldest boys link arms with me and have my youngest walk in front of me......but he hit a growth spurt and now he's getting close to my height....therefore he will block me out of view Smiley smile So, what are some suggestions on ways to have them all walk me down without it being awkward.....or without being blocked because they are all so tall??? I appreciate any thoughts.

Hmmm good question. I had to comment because I am having my two sons walk me down the aisle, three would be tricky! I am having my boys link their arms in mine rather than the other way around so I can hold my bouquet. Maybe you could all three walk hand in hand? You would need some aisle room though!

Maybe have them all walk you a third. Have one walk you a third up, where the second is waiting, then have the second walk you up to the third 2/3 up the isle with the first following, and then have the third walk you the rest of the way with the first two following. Then they can all “give you away” at the alter.

If you have a train on your dress possibly have your third son hold your train while you walk down still linking with your other two sons? I like the previous suggestion of doing 1/3 of the way with each son as well. Best of luck deciding what will work best for you!

Maybe have your bridal party - then them, then you! (Even though they aren’t like walking you down , you’ll walk alone. It them in front of you!

Man I love both of those suggestions.. if you decided to do the one where they wall you part of the way you could do youngest to oldest🥰❤️

I just have to say that my son's are the exact same ages...19, 17, and 11. Our 19 year old is the best man and our 11 year old is walking me down the aisle. Our 17 year old is too cool for school and doesn't want a job so he's just a groomsman.

I was also going to suggest this! A friend of mine did this with her dad and step dad! One walked her into the church, the other walked her down the aisle. It was awesome and memorable!

These are all great ideas. I like breaking it up into 1/3s that way they each feel special as well.

My 3 sons are walking me down as well. My youngest will start off and take me to my middle son, then my middle son will take to my oldest and he will take me to the altar. But they all will stand by me when the pastor says who gives this brides and they will answer.
