Double band or one? To solder bands or not to solder?

Miosotys, on November 3, 2019 at 8:22 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 12

Do you have double bands? Do you wear them together? See picks below for your input, I am torn. I also have to determine whether or not to saunder my bands. I have to send my set in for a resizing, and I have been postponing it because I do not know whether I want to sauder my bands together. I love the way they look with all 3 rings on, but I feel like if I sauder it will take away from the floral detail under my ring (not that I ever take it to show people). Pros, cons, thoughts! Thank you in advance!

I love how the double bands look! I wouldnt solder them together, I agree with your thinking that it would ruin/take away from the floral detail.

I love symmetry, so the two bands looks better to me. I’m soldering my rings for a few reasons; it’ll drive me crazy if they aren’t lined up perfectly, I’ll never wear my band without my engagement ring, and the rings can get damaged from spinning and rubbing on each other.

I love the 3 of them together. I’m debating soldering mine too but can’t make up my mind. My band spins all the time and it drives me crazy.

I like the double bands the best. I’ve been considering a second band for a while and it’s nice you get to play with both to see what you like. I was against soldering my bands but now that I’m married and wearing both, I’m staring to lean towards it more and more. I haven’t done it yet, but I get why it makes sense. I need to decide on a seizes band before I solder.

I like the double band. I mean aren't you supposed to wear both rings?
I planned on soldering mine just because I don't want to lose them.
At the end of the day it's your choice 🤷‍♀️

You could always sauder just two of them together (like just the one on the outside) if your worried about losing them. That way you still can see the floral on the back side

I'm the odd one out here. While I think the double bands are pretty, I prefer the single band. However, I typically like things that are on the more simple side. I'm also not the biggest fan of soldering my rings together. While I still wear my engagement ring on most days, sometimes I prefer to wear my band on it's own. I like having the option of how much jewelry I wear on a given day. I also never really take my wedding band off, but I don't like sleeping with my engagement ring on because it scratches me sometimes or catches on the pillow, etc. I will take it off for other things too where I am fine wearing just the band.

I love the 2 bands together but i would sauder them together it would take away from the bottom of your ring which is beautiful by the way

Not only does soldering damage the rings, but if you intend to have children, a pair of rings in fixed position can be more of a problem with swollen hands during pregnancy. The wider the band, or 2 fixed together, the more likely you will be to have problems, and have to wear neither of them for months. It is easier to resize rings over time, if never soldered. ( Although pronounced sodder or sauder, solder is correct. Use a hot soldering iron to join two metal objects. )

I love double bands. I’m not a huge fan of joining ring together permanently. Even though my wedding ring is a wrap (all I have to do is insert my ring inside). It’s your ring your have to wear, so you should be happy with what you want. I’ve included what my rings looks together and apart.

You all have been great! After reading your inputs, I’m not going to solder them. But I am going to have them resized so I can wear all three at the same time. Thank you!!
