Donuts!!

Brittnay, on December 8, 2018 at 9:42 AM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 17
We are planning on having donuts instead of the traditional wedding cake. Our reception will have roughly 150 people. How many donuts should I expect to order? Should I do 150?

I think there will be more than a few people who will want two+ donuts, maybe talk to the people making the donuts their pro opinion on it? I would think probably 250 donuts for 150 guests in case some want more?

Dor a 150 guests, I would have 250 or 300 atleast. Some guests my want more than one. Or a guest might accidentally drop their donut on the floor and may need another one.

I would get at least 250. Sure, not every guest will want one but there will definitely me more than a few guests who will want more than one.

I think 250, as other posters have suggested, would be a good number. I know I would want more than 1, especially if you’re having multiple flavors. At a minimum, I’d get 200.

I’d think 175-200 would be fine. Some might not eat any and at least everyone will get one.

225-250 seems like a good amount for 150 guests.

We’re going two per guests with each individually in bags so any extras can be additional little late night hotel snacks for anyone who wants to take some but for you I would just get some paper bags and write/draw something on them

Since donuts are smaller, I would plan to expect everyone to at least eat 2.

I went to a wedding that had donuts from Duck donuts. They had quite a few specialty flavors. Mine was maple with crumbled bacon on top. It was so rich, and I ate so much food before, that I could barely finish one donut. I do not think you have to plan for double the amount of guests. I'd say 175 to 200 if they are full size donuts. When you think about it not many people eat dessert at weddings when they are already onto dancing/drinking. Most wouldn't take two pieces of cake, so why would they take two donuts, unless they're mini. I think 175 should cover the amount of people who wouldn't want one and those who would want two. Also keep in mind dessert isn't a full on buffet so people should kind of get the idea that there is enough to go around, plus some extra.
