Donut Bar Display and Organization

Kaitlyn, on July 13, 2018 at 12:43 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 14

Hello! Getting married on October 12th, and STILL have not decided how we are going to display our donuts. They don't have holes in the middle, so the wall won't work. Since there are 6 flavors we were thinking of having them on 6 different cake stands, but I am having a hard time finding reasonably priced ones with the look I am going for.

Another on going issue is that our wedding doesn't really have a color or theme.. BM's are wearing black dresses, guys are wearing dark grey tux's. White flowers, black table cloths and champagne gold accents. I suppose I could use ceramic white trays with some cake stands?

Any help is appreciated!! Smiley smile

Could you buy or rent acrylic stand? Something like this

    https://www.displays2go.com/P-24201/Clear-Acrylic-Cube-Sold-in-Sets-of-3?utm_source=google.pla&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=GooglePLA&gclid=Cj0KCQjwm6HaBRCbARIsAFDNK-gY1DL92Q5IUKFNXH81h8n8KwqnSXbGi-_O9opUSSKlWtLAJ_aP8kIaAlNdEALw_wcB

    or this

They are fairly inexpensive (compared to cake stands) and would take the "color" issue out of the equation.

You’re the first bride I’ve seen with my wedding date!! 🎉🎉

unfortunately I have no idea how to display donuts, I would say large wood boards. You can buy HUGE butcher block boards at Home Depot super cheap (they are meant to go on top of a toolbox) the wood is beautiful quality and you could even set one or two up off the table and have the donuts “spilling” off onto the table.

The big board is from Home Depot, the others are just nice cutting boards. This was a meat and cheese set-up but I’m sure it would work with donuts lol. And you wouldn’t need to set it that high

Congrats girl!! 90 days to go!!! The time is flying by. I really like this idea also! I suppose I am stuck thinking I have to use stand sod some sort, I didn’t even think of boards or trays.

I found some relatively inexpensive cake plates and stands at Home Goods.

I'm having a similar problem - the donuts I'm ordering are very large with very messy toppings (no donut wall, can't stack them) and we're ordering 150 of them. Now I'm desperate to come up with a solution for them.... so I'm going to follow this post!

Ahh yes! Same boat- 150ish donuts that I can’t stack or hang. We did 6 flavors, so I want to make sure they are desperate for ease of displaying the flavors using little cards. I am sooo ready to just leave them in their boxes. Good luck!

You can make your own cake stands! I took the round cheap platers from dollar tree. Spray painted them to match and then glued candle sticks (also $tree). You could use metal baskets. Walmart as some galvanized ones on sale right now. We got a cupcake stand from a yard sale page that doesnt really match. But I'm guna use the diffrent layers under the table clothes to make diffrent hights on my setting.

My fiancé and I are having donuts at our wedding as well. My fiancé and the best man are planning to make wooden tier stands for the donuts similar to this photo. We have a mixture of donuts that have holes and ones that are filled.

We’re doing plates on pedestals... I got these from amazon and got dollar store candle sticks and used E6000 glue to stick them together. We also got 2 matching bigger square ones
