Don't be afraid to diy your flowers!

Cora, on August 10, 2019 at 11:02 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 28
At first I was daunted by how difficult it would be to put together a classy cascading bouquet, but it was actually not too bad! I've also made the boutonnieres and corsages for the wedding party and parents. My wedding isnt until June but now I've checked a big item off my list. Picture shows my final execution vs. the concepts I had at the store. Anyone else going the fake flower DIY route?

You did an amazing job! The flowers you chose go so well together. I was going to DIY faux flowers but decided I loved fresh ones too much!

Beautiful!!! I’m DIYing real flowers, and have some several mock ups with faux flowers in the store.. I’m anxious to see how it turns out for real! This is my inspiration and my store Faux flower mock-up!

That looks amazing! You did a great job!
Love the DIY style of bouquets now instead of the traditional florist, might even consider doing that myself. That way it's not something that'll just be tossed away in a few days, but something to keep forever

I love your bouquet! Around how much did you end up spending for your bridal bouquet? I'm also doing DIY flowers, but the bouquets and boutonnieres out of crepe paper. I'm trying to decide if I want to do all my wedding flowers (including centerpieces/decor) out of crepe paper, or to do a mix of crepe, silk/real touch, and real.

These are flowers I did yesterday to put on either side of my arch! They will be covering the ties of curtains!

That's what I think too. My plan is to deconstruct it after the wedding and display the flowers in a shadow box along with some other keepsakes from the big day!

I'm in the process of buying all of the flowers and supplies. I've made several different mock bouquets but can't decide what I'm doing. Did you use one of those bouquet holders or did you tape all of the stems together?

This is my bouquet 💐 ❤️ My fiancé loves it! My maids bouquets are solid red roses like the ones in my bouquet. I’m also going to do my own table centerpieces. My bouquet totaled at around $90 because I’m picky about high quality faux flowers. Totally worth it! A florist would charge hundreds for a bouquet like this one, then I’d just have to throw it away after a few days.

My FSIL and I made all of the bouquets from hobby lobby flowers! I still have to make one more BM bouquet and mine. Mine will also be cascading. I’ve been watching tutorials but not sure how to do it yet! Did you use a place holder to keep them all together? For these we just used floral tape and hot glue! Here’s a picture of my daughter holding one of the BM bouquets
