Donating leftover flowers

Is anyone doing this? Because very few if any brides actually keep flowers after the wedding, most are left to die unless given to a guest who can appreciate them and they aren't used as decor outside of photos.

Some people suggest giving them to a funeral parlor to serve families who can't afford elaborate arrangements, and have a pickup scheduled. Or donating to a nursing home or hospital.

I kept my bouquet, H kept his boutonniere, as did the bridal party and the families kept their flowers as well. We offered our centerpieces to anyone who wanted one and the rest our photographer took to a nursing home (they were potted plants).

We’re having artificial flowers, but most are going home with guests and we’re keeping some as keepsakes, but I love this idea!

Donating is a wonderful idea. I’m keeping my bouquet & our centerpiece. I’m not using flowers in anything else. C

We reused our flowers for our farewell brunch that we hosted the morning after our wedding, and then immediately following the brunch we dropped them off at a local nursing home. I kept my bouquet only and just threw it out when it died.

We plan on giving ours to the hospital to cancer patients after our event.

There are actually a couple of charities that repurpose wedding flowers - I'm not sure if they operate in your area, but a quick google might tell you.
Many of them create arrangements for nursing homes and such.

Donating them is a nice idea. You could also let your venue staff have them, which, is actually really appreciated by them!
