Does your guest list exceed the venue limit?

Take it from someone that over invited and is regretting the decision.....only invite the amount of people your venue can hold or find another venue while there is still time. You will save yourself so much stress and money. More than likely you will get some RSVP no's, but that isn't guaranteed. What would you do if all 115 RSVP'd yes?

Never invite over your venue capacity. What’s going to happen if everyone attends and then you’re forced to turn people away?

No, it doesn't. Our venue has an extremely large limit but regardless we invited the exact amount we could afford.

Limits are there for a reason!

I have seen weddings on here have 100% invite:show ratio. Do yourself a favor and do not invite over 100 people!

No, my venue capacity dictated my guestlist. Do not invite more people than you can fit!!

What is the plan if all 115 of the invited guests attend? I know brides say they had a decline rate between 10-20%; but there are cases were you get close to 100% attendance.

If our venue didn't offer enough space, we would have to keep looking.

Is your venue strict with the 100 guest count? We were told that we could only have 100 people during our off season date, but their website stated 125. So we spoke to the coordinator and she said they would like for us to stick to 100 guest. We have about 105 people with the 5 being vendors (so they arent technically sitting, but we have to feed them).

Our venue can hold 400 people and we invited 260 so we are not even close! My sister invited over when she was planning hers and it caused so much stress because she had to bank on a certain number of people just not showing up. I would try to not put yourself in that situation.

Our ceremony venue holds 185 while our reception holds 250. We were at 183...until my mother tacked on 4 more couples. We may not have enough seats in the ceremony hall, which is in a museum...so worst case scenario is people have to either stand...or they walk around the museum during the ceremony. We will have no problem with the reception hall.

Our venue claims they can hold way more than what we are inviting (115 as well) but I have seen that ballroom and I think it's much more comfortable at the capacity we limited ourselves to due to our budget and having roomy space not cramped!! I honestly can't imagine 250-300 people in our ballroom. If people start asking to invite plus ones who we didn't include I could still say sorry due to the capacity and our budget we have maxed out our guest list.
