Does this count as a 2nd honeymoon?

Natt, on July 30, 2019 at 5:00 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 8
Is anyone having 2 honeymoons? We just came back from our honeymoon but we didn’t get to go to the places we originally planned due to new husband not being able to leave the country. He is here legally but once you get married you need to turn in paperwork that doesn’t allow you to leave the country until it has been processed (or something like that) so we were thinking of going to the rest of the places we planned in about 5-6 months. Does this still count as a honeymoon or does it count as a vacation? I know Some people have been having their honeymoon 6 months-1 year after their wedding so not sure if I can count the new one as a honeymoon.

You can treat it however you like. Call it a honeymoon if you want. I joked with FH that he has to take me on a 2nd honeymoon since we are going to a place he wants to go for our first one.

Does it really matter? By definition a honeymoon is "a vacation or trip taken by a newly married couple." A honeymoon is a vacation, but I don't think anyone really cares what you call it.

We're taking two trips after the wedding: our minimoon and our honeymoon. Our minimoon is just a couple of days in Montreal to unwind from the wedding. And our honeymoon next year will be a much larger trip to also celebrate FHs birthday.

Uh. Why does it matter? We're planning a honeymoon in 2020. A trip in 2021, 2022, and possibly 2025. If we want to call all of them honeymoons we can. Nobody cares if I go on vacation or a 95th a honeymoon. Just us.

    I'd consider it a vacation.

We’re doing something a little similar to you. We’re getting married in December and we ant to go to Hawaii but I don’t want to pay out a lot of money with the possibility we might not be able to fly out of N.C. due to snow. We decided to fly to Florida for about five days, then in April of 2020, we’ going to Hawaii for our cruise. We still call it our honeymoon regardless of what some people say.
