Does the mob have to have someone escort her?

Laura, on September 2, 2019 at 6:10 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 12
Title says it all. Another thread got me thinking about this and I realized, there’s no one to escort my mother. I mean, no one. My brother won’t be there, she & my Dad split almost 40 years ago, she’s not close to FH so him doing it would be weird. So, is it okay for her to walk alone?

She can walk alone if she want to. If she doesn’t want to walk alone, you can ask her who she would like to escort her. My mom is going to have one of her brothers escort her down the aisle because she’s not comfortable walking alone.

That's okay! At my uncle's wedding my grandma walked down by herself but she has a small boquet so her hands didn't look awkward in photos haha

There is literally no one. We’re essentially cut off from her side of the family; none of them will be there. She’s going to have to go it alone.

I’m sure it was cute for your grandma but my mother really isn’t a bouquet person. She’s just gonna have to hoof it alone I guess.

She can absolutely walk down the aisle alone, nothing wrong with that.

    Thanks.
I texted her about it and she says she’s fine going solo. But now FH is fussing about it being ‘awkward’ with his parents going together and my mom alone. Sigh. Men.

It's really not a big deal. If your mom is fine with it, then that's all the matters.

Is it possible she could escort you down the aisle?

My Dad is walking me down the aisle. I don’t care for the both parents look.

She can certainly walk alone. If she would prefer an escort then I would jsut have one of the ushers or groomsmen do it. It doesn't have to be anyone special to your mom.

The best man? That's typically who does it! I was between the best man or my brother (a groomsmen) doing it. But my mom said usually the best man can do it and he meets the other groomsmen up front then.
