Does the flower girl come to the reception?

So I know I have a long time for my wesding, but my fiance and I are divided so I'm looking for some third party opinions. We are having a kid free reception, no children. None. We are having a kid free reception, no children. None. We don't have kids, no nieces or nephews, none of our close friends have kids. We want his cousins daughter, who will be 4 at the time of our wedding, to be our flower girl. Does she come to the reception then? She would be the only child there.

Also additional information, our reception is a sunset cruise, but our ceremony is at a church, so it's not a reception you could leave early. You have to board it at time a and it docks 4 hours later.

If they want they can stay with their grandparents as well, I don't like imposing on family though, but they do have other family and friends as options.

Most people take their children to receptions and that is where other people, mostly grandparents have to step in to watch them, because they.. the parents want to enjoy themselves, so you have kids running around not being watched for most of the night.
The likelihood of am emergency occurring in 4 hours while they're at the reception is slim. It could happen but it can also happen while a parent is at work not attending to their child either, for 8 hours. Jus sayin.
If you're that cynical of spending a few bucks to have your child in a Wedding and not attending a reception as the bride and groom wishes, then I wouldnt want your child in the wedding either.

No one is telling you you can't have an adult only wedding, we are telling you that you are treating this poor child like a prop by wanting her to spread your flower petals and then peace out and not bother you. You have to make a decision - flower girl at the reception or no flower girl at all. Anything else is rude.

Don't act like it's some great honor to people to have their child in your wedding and then be treated like crap. It's a lot of work for parents to travel with children and get them ready for a wedding.

Hahaha, there is NO, etiquette rule that states you can't have a flower girl at the wedding if they're not invited to the wedding. A wedding can be planned in any fashion now a days. You calling the girl, a Poor Child is preposterous, and a prop, pfft, that's as ridiculous as it sounds.
I will be having a flower girl and she will not be attending the reception and guess what, I could care less if she poses for my pictures. I want her to be a part of the ceremony only, and not the reception, as she w ouldnt want to be condemned to the adult shenanigans all night anyway.
