Does the cake baker receive an invitation?

Micaiah, on August 25, 2018 at 10:21 PM Posted in Planning 0 9
So this is probably a stupid question, but do I need to send an invitation to my cake baker, or is it implied that she can stay? She is a friend of mine, but not one who would be invited if she had not been baking our cake. I don't at all mind if she stays for the ceremony and or reception, but so I need to send her an invite?

Are you paying this person like other vendors? I hope so, but I would extend and invite. A work friend of mine did our cake and flowers and I invited her to both ceremony and reception.

Yes I'm paying her. I just dont know if I need to send her an invitation or if it's just implied that she can come.

If you want her to attend, you need to send her an invitation. If she's delivering the cake and setting it up, she'll do that earlier in the day and won't be dressed to attend the ceremony. Plus, I don't know why she would think she can attend if she's just baking the cake. If you are paying her a fair price to make the cake (and I hope you are), you don't need to invite her. It's a business transaction.

It's never just implied that someone can come. If you want her to stay, send her an invitation.

Generally, the baker is not invited to the wedding. But if it's a friend of yours you would like to invite, you have to send an invitation. But, no it's not expected that you would extend an invitation.

I don’t know my baker outside of that, so she is not getting an invite to the wedding.

I agree with this! If you are inviting her, send her an invite. She will come early for drop off and set up, and she would need time to change and get ready to come back at the start of wedding time!

Our DJ and his wife would have been invited to our wedding either way (FI's SIL's sister). We sent them an invite (we are paying him for his DJ services).
