Has anyone had any luck with an online minster/officiant license from Universal Life Church or American Marriage Ministries Church?

My best friend has asked me to officiate their wedding, and I’m trying to figure out all the logistics. I’m in York county and am also looking at all the surrounding counties, but almost every Court website I look at has a disclaimer saying that “weddings officiated by online minster licenses may or may not be accepted.” But it doesn’t look like it’s been updated since 2010. 8 years makes a big difference.

I know some people have said that they have had luck in Bucks Co. Or possibly getting a self-uniting marriage license might be the best bet. But I would love to be able to offer non-denominational and non-religious wedding to everyone. Not just my best friend. It feels like a calling for me. I love seeing people in love.

So, does anyone have any more information on this? Has anything changed in 2018?

Did you have to submit any paperwork, such as letter of good standing or show your card?

I was asked by my nephew to marry him & his fiancé. Looking into becoming ordained. Did you do it online? Which one did you choose to go through? Is there any other way? I'm also looking into 3 different counties (Alleghney, Armstrong, & Westmoreland). Not all 3 recognize online Ordained Ministers. If PA has these issues how can we perform them in other states as some ministries say they are recognized in all 50 states. It's very confusing. I just don't want my nephew's wedding unrecognized by the state or find out later when one partner passes away & they're not entitled to spousal benefits. That would be horrible.
