Does anyone really notice wrinkles in the linens?

Tiffany, on May 29, 2019 at 10:53 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 14
I have brand new linens and I am 23 days out and having to let some things go.
Trying to get these linens pressed is one of them. But I don’t want things to look tacky.
Anyone have wrinkled linens that can reassure me it’s not that big of a deal?

As a wedding guest, I can honestly say I have never paid any attention to the linens on the table. It will be even less noticable when the tables are set with plates, cutlery, etc.

I agree, it's not something that guests typically notice.

The only way it would be noticeable would be if there were wrinkles that were large and all over it. Apart from that, I don’t think anyone would notice.

I just used my linens straight out of their plastic bags/boxes and noone noticed. Lol they still photographed nicely. 😅

If they are large wrinkles from packaging, you may want to at least throw them in the dryer for 10-15 minutes with a damp towel or get s 20 dollar mini steamer and steam them, which should only take a few minutes per cloth. In both cases as long as they aren't beaded or sequined/glitter, you should be ok. I wouldnt worry about small wrinkles.

I agree with Cheryl here just toss in dryer with a damp towel. You’ll be good to go. Not that any one may notice but you’ll know and it may bother you not every thing is perfect. I know it would bother me

I hate to sound awful but I 100% notice wrinkles (big stark ones from packaging) and it cheapens the situation. Drying them makes worlds of difference.

I totally agree. I do notice wrinkles and it would drive me crazy as the host to see it. I also wouldn't want it to be noticeable in photos.
I don't think it hurts to iron, steam, or dry them.

This— I feel like everyone saying they’ve never noticed wrinkles in linens have never noticed wrinkles in linens because there haven’t been any. I think it is super important (honestly why bother getting nice linens if they’re not going to look nice). A couple creases aren’t a huge deal but wrinkles won’t look nice. You don’t have to agonize over ironing but fluff them up
in a dryer at least to freshen them up. Someone on here talked about rolling their linens after washing them to keep them wrinkle free which was an interesting idea.

I guess it depends but I 100% notice wrinkles and depending on how they are folded it can look awful. I would definitely try to get them pressed but if it doesn't happen it's not the end of the world!

I totally notice wrinkles. I agree with trying the dryer with a damp washcloth, or an inexpensive steamer. Worst case, get a quote from a dry cleaner to do it.

Another option - depending on your budget and how stressed you are, you could totally send them to the cleaners to get pressed. I have never done that, but I can't imagine it would be more than a few hundred, which is priceless if you're really worried about it.

I've heard of putting them in the dryer with a wet cloth, maybe that will help? I'm one of the people that would notice, but it's a "know your crowd" sort of thing I'd say!
