Does anyone even rsvp anymore?!?

Tiffany, on May 13, 2019 at 12:41 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 11
This is more of a rant, and wondering if anyone else is having this issue. Our wedding is June 22. We sent save the dates out in December, and invites went out in April. Rsvp by date is May 18. We have 225 invited and have had less than 50 rsvp still! We need numbers for catering and linens and everything and can’t figure anything out until this is done!
I rsvp as soon as I know if I can make it to anything! It’s even online so nothing to mail 🤬.

Any tips on how to increase the folks who rsvp so I don’t have 200 texts, calls and messages to send? This is absurd. There has been several people who were talking to Fh and said “oh yeah sorry I still need to mail that in” re invite. It’s obviously online! They haven’t even opened the invites.
Thank goodness I’m never doing this again omg!

Yeah this definitely sucks!! I never realized how much of a headache it is as a bride and now that I’m on this side of the spectrum I understand.. how much time left you have until the due date??? Depending on that I’d sent people txts asking to go only and RSVP there instead of mail..

I rarely RSVP until the deadline. I wait until I know I’m not going to have a conflict.

My RSVP date is May 17th. I know it's going to be a pain, but on May 19th send everyone who hasn't replied a text with the link to the website. Then they can open it right on their phone and reply. In the meantime, you might think about gathering as many phone numbers/emails so you can send the link. If you have to call, I would divvy it up amongst yourself, FH, FILs and your parents if possible. I don't know what it is about rsvps 🤷‍♀️

I totally understand you're frustration! I had to contact over half of my guests and it was a real pain. I had a couple people say to me that they didn't realize catering was involved so I guess they just didn't care to RSVP. 🤦‍♀️

    Good Morning,

Do you have mail in RSVP? For us we did our RSVP'S via our wedding website which was so helpful. We sent out our invitations March 30th and receive all our RSVP's BY May 1st. I found it easier if you are asking to RSVP via wedding website to text the link directly to them instead of them typing the whole url out.

We have a wedding website for rsvp and also has info on lodging etc because this is a semi destination wedding there’s extra logistics. So frustrating though!

I feel that most people wait until the last minute. Some people won't know their schedule that far in advance. Out RSVP deadline is may 26th or so and the wedding is June 16th. I know people who will probably RSVP after the deadline because even those 3 weeks are too far out when you don't have a set schedule and you're short staffed.

The deadline is the 18th. That's 5 days from now. It'll take about 30 seconds for people to get online and respond. I'd take a deep breath and wait until at least the 18th at 6pm before starting to get frustrated. People like doing things the day of.

When do you need your final guest count? I'd split the work up between you and your fiancé & your parents. Copy & paste a generic text or facebook message.
