To answer your actual question- no hashtags are not a requirement.

You don't need one. I used the WW hash tag generator and it gave me #takemetoreedtown which just sounds dirty and dumb.

OP, I think Flighty pointed it out because you used "too" incorrectly twice. It was a bit odd. I am the first to admit that I make typo errors sometimes. When you post to an online forum, you can never control what people say back to you. Try not to take it personal.

As for your hashtag: Smith is pretty common (as you know). Got anything else to give to help us help you make it more unique? What's your maiden name? Or maybe there is something clever there with your first names...

You don't have to do one...if you think your guests will not use it, don't bother.

In the days of social media, people will tag you or just send you photos, so if you have trouble coming up with one, don't stress about it too much.

They aren't necessary. I would only create one if you think your crowd will use it.
