Do the fathers match the groom/groomsmen?

We are definitely NOT telling our fathers what to wear but I'm wondering, traditionally, do they usually match the groom and groomsmen? My dad doesn't seem to think so bc he mentioned a different color but fh's dad assumed it would match. Just curious what everyone else's dads did?

I didn't think so. They're not in the wedding party so they don't have to, but the dads can match if they want.

Not necessarily. My dad isn't walking me down the aisle. A lot of brides are choosing not to.

Our groomsmen are wearing gray pants and vests that we rented but my dad is wearing a gray suit including the jacket that we bought from Macy’s. They will coordinate but not necessarily match.

I told my dad and brothers to wear what they are comfortable in. They wanted to coordinate with our colors but not match the GMs and FH's suits. I really love that they choose to do that!

First time my dad matched the groom's and groomsmen tuxes, but wore a black tie.
This time the FOG is wearing the same tux as the others but with a black/silver tie. We did that to avoid him wearing a suit/ tux the same age as the groom! My dad has since passed away.
