Do the chairs really matter?

Yolanda, on February 15, 2019 at 4:51 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 1 21
My venue provides the Chiavari chairs, but only in that pale gold color. My wedding colors are Cobalt, light blue, light yellow and silver. Everyone is telling me that no one is going to care what colors my chairs are, but I really don't want them to clash. Renting silver or white chairs are going to cost about $900, and that's an extra cost I'm not sure will be worth it. Am I making a big deal out of nothing?

That’s a lot of money for something that others won’t notice. If it’s a big deal for you then I’d recommend looking at chair covers instead.

Don't worry about the chairs too much. Like they said, people are not even going to notice.

My colors were purple, sage green, orange and silver. I had those exact gold chairs and it looked good. Nobody noticed at all, not even me. I had thought it might bother me, but like you was not willing to pay to change it. I'd actually forgotten about it until I saw your post, so i went back to see my pics and it looks good. Like a mixed metals kind of thing.

I honestly couldn't tell you what the chairs at any of the weddings I've been to looked like. Even ones than a year ago.

    They don’t matter!
My chairs were ugly brown and my colors were blue, black, white, and silver but they didn’t standout
put that money to good use elsewhere

I get it but overall won’t matter because those are nice chairs & the color is subtle enough. Besides, there won’t be many pics of chairs. Not to worry! Obsess over your bridal look, sweetheart table & cake table.

Once people are sat in them, you can’t even tell what colors your chairs are, spend that $900 on something fun instead! Gold chivarí chairs sound lovely by the ways!

I have to say I think those chairs are pretty ugly no matte what color they make them. However no one will really notice or remember the chairs. I will be getting chair covers for our reception so I wont have to worry about clashing anything.

Gold does not clash with anything in your palette. The furniture should not exactly match any clothing. Just be a compatible similar or contrasting color, which pale gold is, to light yellow and any blue, and silver.

No one will notice your chairs. I had to think for a minute about what color our chairs were and I sat in one...

No they absolutely don't matter. People will be sitting in them, not staring at them. Save the $ and put it somewhere you'd really like it to go.

My venue includes these odd looking wooded folding chairs - they’re a bit ugly TBH but they’re included with the cost. Plus they’re padded which will aid in guests’ comfort I think.

There’s a choice to upgrade to antique wooden chairs for $500 but I’m not excited about that idea - literally no one will know, notice, or care that we stayed with the venue’s chair selection rather than drop $500 on the “upgrade”.

No, chairs do not matter. I’m fine with plain ones as long as they are appear clean.

Chairs don't matter. I was trying to think of what color ours chairs were at our wedding only four months ago and I was positive they were light gold too until I looked at my pictures and saw they were just stained dark wood colored. You won't remember the chairs, your guests won't remember the chairs, I'd save your money.

Trust me, no one will care. I was just at a wedding in September and I honestly don't remember what chairs they used or if they matched the centerpieces or not.
