Can we talk about songs we absolutely do NOT want played at our weddings? I’m not a huge fan of line dances, but like the Cupid Shuffle, so I added hokey pokey, chicken dance, cotton eyed joe and cha cha slide to my Do Not Play. Also, the Grease mega mix is annoying to me (sorry if you love it! Just not for me). Any other songs bother you or you would rather avoid?

The YMCA could also be something to consider. I know my mom had someone re-enact the Gangnam style dance at her wedding but I don't think that's super common anymore (she got remarried in 2014). Otherwise, I think that's most of them.
The only song on my do not play list is Don't Stop Believing (I'm a huge Journey fan, actually seeing them next week) but, this song is just sooo overplayed it bothers me. I also requested no line dances like you lol
I'm with you on line dances, but my fiancée totally disagrees! She really wants to play the cupid shuffle, the wobble, and so on. She thinks people like them, and she thinks it would be funny to watch drunk relatives do the wobble. I'm putting my foot down; no one is doing the chicken dance at our black tie wedding!
However, if you want some crowd pleasers, google "songs white people lose their s*** to".
I kid you not.... the DJ at my brother and sister-in-law's wedding played Carrie Underwood's "Before He Cheats". What the heck?!?! I wouldn't think anyone would have to put that on their "do not play list", but currently that is the one and only song on mine. My family still laughs about it (when my brother and sister-in-law aren't around). We have no idea how that ended up being played.
Oh my, I have such a long do not play list! I think I will have to relax my iron grip on music and just trust the DJ, but basically I don’t want any songs played that I don’t personally like.
Do not play includes: the obvious silly things like Chicken Dance, Macarena, YMCA etc., but also 90s pop like Nysnc, Britney Spears, etc. which seems to be a thing at weddings these days, absolutely no rap or hip hop, nothing about break ups or sad songs, or anything with negative memories for either of us.
