Do i postpone? April 25 - 115 people - Museum

I’m struggling with what to do. My vendors are being very gracious and willing to do another date this summer if I push it. But there is also the risk that this doesn’t die down, gets worse, or another act of god takes place (hurricane, whatever). My rsvps are still coming in. I am inclined to say let’s just keep it and whoever comes, comes — there are no guarantees people could come on a new date I choose or that the virus has eased by August, for instance.

If you decide to change your date, I would find something that avoids the virus and hurricane season. I think August might be good or even November-January.

I think if your vendors aren’t gonna charge you more for changing your date then it would be nice to move it to feel reassured

If your venue is a really a museum, then they will more than likely force you to cancel or postpone. I'm so sorry and I really feel for you Smiley sad

Museums around the country are closing left and right. If they're offering you a late summer date, I'd take it now before someone else nabs it up.

I agree with Hanna unfortunately. I would make a list of folks that have to be at the wedding, then decide if you could continue on without them. This is not an easy situation, by any means, and I'm so, so sorry that you're having to deal with this. My best advice is to get your plan by in order, then wait and see what happens closer to the day. We're all trying really hard to contain it right now, so in two months who knows what our situation will be? I'd give it another week before deciding. Best of luck and all the good vibes! I'm so sorry this is happening.

Same wedding date here; venue is a Botanic garden (so public attraction but mostly outdoors). Have you asked the museum how/when they are deep cleaning? They may end up closing anyway; is there any way you could find a backup venue?
I’m trying not to change the date. I love April weather here and many people have already made travel arrangements and they are saying they do still plan on coming. If that means some guests DONT come, so be it. I have started working on venue back up plans w my wedding coordinators (parents back yard, a church hall, etc). If you keep the date start looking for new venues just in case.

Yes the museum is closed through March currently but it could be longer. Given the new CDC guidelines of any events greater than 50 people in the next 8 weeks...we feel like our hands might be a bit tied here for doing what is right. We don’t really want a summer wedding and there are no dates in September, so we may have to look to the Fall. We will see.
