Do i need both seating chart and welcome sign?

miss, on September 17, 2018 at 9:40 PM Posted in Planning 0 13
For the reception, do I need both a seating chart and a welcome sign? I’m trying to imagine what it would look like to have both but it seems busy having a welcome sign as well as a seating chart 🤔

I’m doing both but the ceremony and reception are at different venues. We have the “welcome to our wedding” sign for the ceremony and the seating chart for our reception. Smiley smile

Interesting!! Our ceremony and reception are at different venues too. Is your welcome sign only for your ceremony and then just the seating chart at reception?

I’m doing both. My venue is 3 floors so I’ll havw the welcome sign at the main level when guests walk in the venue, then I’ll have the seat chart on the main level where the reception will take place.
You could always have the welcome sign outside the venue by the main door.

I'm doing both, my welcome sign will be right outside the venue at the entrance doors to the venue and the seating chart will be be at the entrance doors to the actual ballroom.

I dont think you need a welcome sign anywhere. Guests know who is getting married and where they are.

    Welcome signs are unnecessary.

Hi Sasha! One or both, it's really up to you. Would you be DIYing or buying your signage? If DIYing, and if you want all of the different signage, you could make some smaller depending on your venue, setup, preference, etc. Smiley heart

My welcome sign will be outside at the ceremony site and my seating sign will be inside at the gift table

Yep! I mean, the welcome sign probably isn’t necessary but I’m making it myself and isn’t a hassle or anything. I just like consistency lol

I don't personally see the need for welcome signs unless there are a lot of weddings at your venue at that time. I think the seating chart would be sufficient.

We arent having a welcome sign at all. We will have a directions sign in the lobby of the building pointing out the coat room (winter wedding) and what floor things are on for the elevator (and another in the elevator because the bathrooms are down a floor from the Hall). We are making the seating chart a piece of artwork so we can hang it in our home after.

We are doing both. Our welcome sign will be at the main doors of the venue as it is a one event per day type venue and our seating chart will be displayed during cocktail hour on the back patio of the venue and then be moved inside to the reception room.
