I originally wanted a wedding planner until I found out they're about $2k. Smiley smile Now I just feel like I need someone to coordinate the ceremony and wedding itself to make sure all activities take place, and make sure everyone is where they should be at the right times. HOWEVER, from what I've found is that most coordinators are planners and they want the whole package.

In your wedding, did you have one or not? If yes, was it a professional or a family member? If no, did everything go as plan? Did you have any issues feeling lost or wondering where you should be (especially during the ceremony), or when your husband and his groomsmen should stand at the alter, or when to start the music or walk down the aisle? lol. Any issues with forgetting activities like the boquet toss or garter toss?

I didn't have an option but to hire one. My venue requires a wedding planner. They will provide an event planner on the day too. So basically I have a coordinator with her 2 assistants and an event planner. And I am only having 60 guest. My DOC will start to contact me 60 days before the wedding. She charge less than 3K.

I'm the type of person that I am extremely organized, and on top of everything so I have been planning my own wedding. It's been fun for me! Of course there have been a few bumps but it has been a great experience. Now as for the day of, I have a maitre' d, and to add on, two very reliable friends that are going to be my coordinators for the wedding ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. I don't have to pay them which is a plus! (Although I plan on having something special to give them for their help Smiley laugh ) Hiring an actual wedding coordinator is not in my budget.
