Do i have to wear a white dress for engagement party?

Ally, on July 4, 2018 at 11:17 AM Posted in Planning 0 18
I've noticed from going to others that the bride to be wears a white dress for the engagement party. Do I have to?

No. There are many brides who do not feel the need to wear white to every pre-wedding event. White is not a flattering color for a lot of people.

Well I certainly didnt hear about that rule before my engagement party! Mine was pretty low key though so maybe there are rules if it's fancier. To me, you should be able to wear whatever you want!

Nope! I wore jeans and a t shirt. Was very casual and more like a get together for just FH family and my parents

You definitely don't have to! I have little self control when it comes to shopping for new outfits, so I did buy some white dresses with florals so I can wear them again (even to work with a blazer over). I'd never wear a plain white dress again.

I don't think you have to wear white to anything, especially not engagement party. Unless you are opposed to white, the one thing I would wear it for is the rehearsal dinner but not if it's something you really don't like. You do you.

No way! I say rock the color and style you feel the best and most confident in.

Nope, we didn't have an engagement party but I won't be wearing white to any of my pre-wedding events (my dress isn't even white 100% lol, it looks AWFUL on me)

No! I think brides tend to wear white, but I'd just wear whatever you feel most beautiful in!
