Do I have to pick up jewelry for Bridesmaids?

GummyBearSTL, on March 26, 2017 at 6:18 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 19

I'm not requiring the ladies to have jewelry. Is it expected of me to provide the bling?

No. Unless you are telling them what jewelry to wear, it's up to them to purchase jewelry if they want it. If you want them all the same, then you pay.

I asked this before and was informed the same. If I wanted specific jewelry to match then I buy. I did want them to match so I found awesome sets at Macy's for all 4 of the girls

Nope. I don't care about the girls all wearing the exact same jewelry. I just asked that they were silver or diamonds (fake or real) so they're all kind of similar. Not one with gold, one with silver, etc. But I want them to pick so it's either A) something they already have or B) something they can get cheap and use again

@crystal, I tried to search first, but nothing showed up in the results. I hate WW's search algorithm.

If you want them to wear specific jewelry - then you should buy it for them! If not, you don't have to buy them any jewelry!

For my bridesmaids my guidelines were: if you're wearing earrings please wear studs, no necklace, and a simple bracelet!

No you don't have to buy unless you want them to wear something specific. I am buying their jewelry just because i didn't want them to have to spend money on it and make it easier on them.

Ditto PPs. I bought jewelry for mine from USABride. (Totally recommend, btw). But if they don't want to wear it that day, I'm not going to be butt hurt.

But if you are or are not buying jewelry make sure you let them know! I was in a wedding where the bride said she'd be buying jewelry and then didn't, so I didn't bring any, and I felt like I looked stupid.

Just to make sure, does this mean that I don't have to buy jewelry as a gift? (I know other people haven't, I'm just figuring out expectations.... I'm leaning toward buying different jewelry for everyone as gifts).

A bridesmaid asked me today about jewelry today. I don't care what jewelry they wear as long as it's silver colored.

Nope! Feel free to request (ie: earrings and a necklace, nothing too flashy) but if you aren't requiring anything specific, then there's no need to buy any jewelry for them.

Nope! I just have mine some general guidelines: yellow gold, not too big/flashy, relatively simple. I'm hoping a lot of them will be able to wear things they already have.

Nope, I gave my ladies necklaces for their BM gifts. They aren't required or asked to wear them, but they will go well with their dresses if they choose to wear them.

I got them each an earring and bracelet set and a headband. I kept them simple. They are all wearing different dresses so I didn't do necklaces.

I just ordered all of mine this week. I'm not wearing pearls, so I ordered them each a different set that had pearls or pearl accents with silver. They're just cheapo things, but I didn't want them to have to worry about that part. Their dresses are the same color but mismatched styles so I thought mismatched but same color jewelry would work too.

I was given custom jewelry for a wedding I was in, and I've never worn it again, I would let them pick their own (within reason)
