Do I have to do Save the Dates?

STDs are a relatively recent innovation--and I'm not convinced they are a good one. If you have out-of-town guests who are close enough to you that they would be willing to save up/change other plans to be at your wedding, they probably know your date already. (If they don't, you could call or e-mail them.) However, if you send out STDs to all the people you intend to invite, then you are stuck even if your relationship changes/things cost more than you expected.

@Future Mrs. Harris- those are super cute!! I kinda wanted to have love birds as decor or cake topper, but FH laughed since I'm terrified of actual birds, so I prob won't do that lol.

To be honest with you, I always forget "save the dates" when someone invites me to something unless it is something really, really important...like a wedding! So, for family and really close friends, that is, someone you really DON'T want to miss out on your wedding, go ahead and send them. But then send invitations far enough in advance so that people like me will have a real invitation we can't forget about!

My wedding is the week before yours, and we are sending the STD's out tomorrow.

We are getting our engagement photos done next month. I really wanted to use those but I think I should send them out ASAP. Maybe I'll do just a cute picture we have together.
