I did consider that, but most times they will have an automated response letting you know they are away. I also had trouble getting in touch with him a month ago about pricing.

Is he on WW by chance? Or the knot? I like to check reviews. I’ve had trouble getting responses from some vendors over the summer because they are so busy between weddings and following up with bridal expo leads and other customers and presumably living their lives. I have not contacted a single vendor that had an automated response letting me know they were out for a week or whatever, and since I’m not really in a hurry I’ve just based my decision on how comfortable I felt with the person.
As far as 5 stars with lots of reviews, I’ve seen a few vendors in my area that have 5stats and over a hundred reviews. I read through several of the reviews, but ultimately looked at their work and spoke with them to get a feel. I do think there are done great vendors that deserve five stars, but I get feeling skeptical.

Are you contacting him directly, or through Wedding Wire? I ask because I've heard from some vendors that they don't always get messages sent to them through WW. I don't know why exactly, some kind of glitch.

If he has a business, I would call the business telephone number. Even if you have to leave a message, you can explain that you've been trying to reach him for however long. That might help, if he is unaware that you've been trying to reach him.

Is he on any other thing where you could message him thru? E.g yelp or instagram?

I ended up dropping a photographer because of pretty much the same reason. I was ready to sign the contract and she started not getting back to me for almost a week after I emailed her, and then never apologized and seemed to forget we had already talked. I went to the next one on my list and he is fabulous! Point being, if someone is giving you bad vibes this early, I would pass no matter how good the reviews are. If they’re away on vacation, they should have an automated out of office email sent with their return date.

The original DJ I liked is not as WW as far as I know. . The other guy with 5 stars I looked up on instagram and facebook and all reviews were great just like on wedding wire, so I'm going to set up a meeting.

I would run !!!! Someone who isnt reliable now cannot be relied on on the biggest day of your life
