Dj sound level

Is this a concern you are addressing during interviews or after you have signed the contract?

For example, while we do have a good size dancing crowd, an equal number don’t dance and prefer to mingle.
I recently attended a birthday party with a pro dj and the music was so loud you couldn’t talk to anyone. So we won’t be going with that particular vendor. But other djs we have seen don’t blare the music. Is this a common occurrence or just a fluke from a bad vendor?

I talked to our DJ about this when I first booked him, he said he could do that. I also told him I did not want an MC because they sometimes don't shut up and it can be very disruptive. We'll have to check in with him again to confirm he understands this and guests won't have to scream over the music.

I'm not having a DJ but I can't stand super loud music where I have to scream at people to talk to them. So good for you for being aware of that!
