DJ Quotes

Sarah, on September 27, 2017 at 10:54 PM Posted in Planning 0 7

Hello all!

So I've gotten pretty far in this wedding planning before feeling the need for more advise, so a win thus far! My fiance and I are looking into DJs and we would also like a photo booth. Ideally the DJ and photo booth would be the same vendor to make it easier. We have two vendors that appear to be giving the same services however one is 2400 and the other is 3400. Are these out of the park outrageous or the standard? We realize that DJs are the entertainment of the night and can make or break the evening. Unfortunately, we really liked the personality of the DJ that was 3400. He even took a phone call from me tonight at 9pm when I ended up with many more questions.

What have others found and what is reasonable? I want a great DJ but I don't want to blow non-sense money. This includes 5hrs DJ, MC, dance lights, uplighting, 4 hrs photo booth with 2 workers and a scrapbook, USB of the photos .. the more expensive place has 16-24 uplight and will audio record speeches.

That's pretty expensive for just a DJ and photobooth

Depends on your location! DJs in northern NJ can vary from 2k to 6k. Most of my friends weddings we've been to this past year paid 4,500. We thought we got a steal for 1,300.

I wish I could say those prices are out of the ordinary but I was quoted the same. It's the very reason I have not booked anyone yet. I keep contacting people looking for a better deal but it really depends on your area.

    ETA-I'm also in NJ @amanda

My Fiance's co-worker paid 1k but that seemed way to low and made me even more concern.

I'm from the DMV and our personally recommended DJ for four hours with uplighting is $900. Adding a photo booth would've been $400-600 more.

We're paying just under $2,000 for ceremony music, reception DJ with uplighting and premium photobooth package. All from the same company.

We are getting married in a low cost of living area, so I don't think your quotes are outrageous.

Those saying that this is expensive what have you seen, including what packages and what state do you live in? I live in the Springfield area of Massachusetts.
