dj playlist on ipod

Lizzy , on May 29, 2018 at 9:56 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 10
Hey guys so instead of having a DJ for the reception we are doing a playlist on the iPod. Does anyone have any good songs that would be great for dancing ?

There are some really great articles out there about how to create a flow to a wedding playlist. You want to have a mix of older songs, classic wedding songs, and newer hits. Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, and The Beatles are all great to choose from. Some weddings songs I personally love are "I wanna dance with somebody" by Whitney Houston, and "We Found Love" by Rihanna. Before I hired a dj and I thought I was going to do this, I made a playlist on Spotify and listened to the transitions of every song to see if the next song fit.

Here is an article I also found to be helpful:

I made a playlist for our eparty and it had a lot of danceable songs from Pitbull, Shakira, Meghan Trainor, Justin Timberlake, and Bruno Mars!

I had a line on our RSVPs asking for song requests - I only had to edit out 2, but that'd be a great starting point if you're creating your own playlist. Plus then you get a taste of what everyone likes so that might guide you on what else to add.

This is the RSVP card I used.

But I've also seen it just added at the bottom if you want a fancier RSVP or one that matches your stationary. I wasn't into that, so liked the retro look. Plus I'm a little older so I actually remember and used cassette tapes!
