DJ play that song!

Ku'uipoCouple, on March 25, 2014 at 1:09 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 6

I saw this idea in a bridal mag where on the invitation, it had a spot where guest could request a song when they send back there response. Tacky or a good way to build up a song list?

We didn't have room to do this on our RSVP cards, but we did include it on the RSVP page of our wedding website with the question "what song would definitely get you up and dancing with us at our wedding?"

Invitations just went out yesterday, so I'll let you know how it goes. I already told a couple of our guests about this though and they loved the idea and said they were going to put a lot of thought into coming up with great songs. I'm not that up on popular music, so I'm excited to see what suggestions we get!

Is there a way to add this into the online RSVP? Because I've had a couple people ask me about it, and I'm not sure if I can do it. We don't plan on sending out paper RSVPs, everything is on the website.

Edit**I figured it out, guess I never looked into it that much! lol.

I have an option on my website for this. My DJ has a guest link on his website where guests can request songs. I gave that link out to the nearest and dearest. I get final veto power. And this is why my DJ is the best!!

I did this on the back if my response card. I've gotten a few back some good some not so good that I won't be playing. I'm almost wishing I didn't because I don't want those guests to be disappointed when I don't play their song!

I also put it on my wedding website, the ability to request songs. I had "We are family" on my Do Not Play list until my aunt requested it. Now I feel obligated to play it lol. If I hadn't already had a bunch of people request songs, I'd consider removing it so as not to get more requests for songs I didn't want to play lol.
