DJ meal

Karla, on June 17, 2017 at 3:37 AM Posted in Planning 0 20

I was going over the final details for the DJ I will be having for my day.

One of the questions that they asked me on the form is if "Ill be providing a meal for the DJ"?

Is that something i need to do?

I am. He'll be working for 8 hour. He needs to eat.

    Yes. You should feed all

Of your vendors. The venue typically discounts those

    Meals

I am making sure he has a plate. My contract didn't state that we had to but I don't see why we can't feed him

First, check your contract with the DJ. Although even if it doesn't require a meal, you should provide it if he/she is working more than 3 hours.

Most venues will discount vendor meals as they are not participating in cocktail hour or alcohol.

Yes, you should feed the DJ, and any other venders who will be there for the entire reception/

This would mean generally including the photographer, but not the florist. May include a MUA if you want her to stay the entire time for touchup. Many venues give a nice, but smaller version of the guest meal (no separate salad course) no appetizers and of course no bar. You should ask the venue BEFORE you tell them how many vendor meals what the cost is for vendor meals, and what they are.

Yes you do. My venue is setting up a small table off to the side where the vendors will eat.

Yes. Mine will. If he's there for the both the ceremony and reception. I plan to feed both him and my photographer. And my videographer. My MUA is a guest at the wedding.

For sure! If any of your vendors are staying through your whole reception then provide a meal...dj, photographer, etc.

Yes, feed your vendors. The venue usually offers a discounted price since they won't be consuming alcohol.

Most likely. Check the contract and see what it says.

But if anyone is working during the reception, then yes they should be provided with a meal.

Your venue or caterer may have a vendor meal pricing option.

I'm providing meals for my photographers, but not the DJ. I brought it up when we met with him because I wanted to make sure he didn't have any dietary restrictions that I needed to tell my venue about and he specifically requested we did not provide a meal.
