DJ hours

Deanna, on May 4, 2017 at 11:05 AM Posted in Planning 0 10

I am seeing a lot of DJs only have packages for 4 hours not including ceremony time. What is the average number of hours for reception and ceremony combined. I'm thinking 5 or 6?

My wedding will be 6 hours total, ceremony and reception. I think that's typical.

Ours will be 6 hours- ceremony, and reception. If they have 4 hour packages they can probably create a custom package for you.

Most of the wedding packages in my area were for 8 hrs.

Mine will be playing from 4:30pm-1am. But he said if the crowd doesn't stop dancing he will carry on for a bit more.

Our ceremony + reception was 5.5 hours. The DJ, however, started playing music a half hour before the ceremony start time for when guests started arriving and the ceremony area was opened up. So the DJ was on the job for 6 hours.

We are using it Dj for the ceremony (1/2 hour prelude and 1/2 of actual ceremony), then for 4 hrs of reception, so 5 hrs total for us. We are gonna use musicians for cocktail hour and don't need to pay the dj to play that hour

Ours is 6.5 hours, including ceremony and reception. I've been told that's longer than most receptions in my area (New England), but they have packages for that amount of time and I can decide to add time that night for a fee ranging from $100-200 per half hour.

Our DJ is starting at 3:30pm for a 4:00pm ceremony and staying until 11:00pm. 7 1/2 hours.
