dj Help!

Caila, on November 18, 2019 at 11:33 AM Posted in Wedding Reception 1 6

Hi all! I am trying to decide on a DJ and how long to have him there. How long are you all having your DJ? Are you having him play during the cocktail hour? The basic package is 6 hours, but we can upgrade for $100 an hour. Our wedding is at 1:30 (we don't need him then bc we are haing a Catholic wedding). I am thinking our cocktail hour will start at 4:30 ish (our reception hall is 30-40 minutes from the ceremony). I just don't know how long to book for. Thanks!!

Our DJ is beginning at 4 pm (30 minutes before ceremony) and ending at 10 pm. If the party is still going well and we still have lots of guests, we can extend the reception an hour for $100. We aren't doing a grand exit, so that's an option for us.

We had our DJ play during the cocktail hour so our guests would have something to listen to.

We had our DJ from 4 to 10, but he planned the music for the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. We didn't do a grand entrance or anything like that. I think is nice to have music playing during cocktail hour. I think the length of time depends on how long your reception is going to be.

Our dj is playing from cocktail hour at 3:30 through last song at 8. He’s arriving at 12:30 to set up by his choice.

I had mine for five hours which was the duration of my reception but mine said if I went over by half an hour it's ok, no charge.

My DJ was there for my ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. total of 4.5 hours. if you don't need him for your ceremony just do the 4-5 hours for your cocktail/reception. it doesn't hurt to ask if he will take some off the price for less than 6 hours. up to you!

we paid $1400 for all sound and magic mirror photo booth. which i thought was a great deal (special pricing for a Sunday wedding)
