Hi brides/brides to be! Just curious, how much is everyone spending or spent on your wedding dj?

$1750 for ceremony music, him singing and playing acoustic guitar during cocktail hour, background music during dinner, and DJ the reception in Carmel, CA. If we didn’t want ceremony or cocktail hour it would’ve been $1250.

Thank you everyone for your feedback! This is helpful! The best DJ quote I got for NJ was $1350 for 5.5 hour ceremony and wanted to gauge if this was a good rate.

Originally were going to go with a dj company that quoted 2000 for dj, lights, up lighting, photo booth, and a monogram light... after he didn’t get back to us timely we realized we didn’t need all that. Went with a smaller dj that only does dj stuff, no up lighting photo booth etc for 600.

We got 5 hours of DJ services (at the reception; we're having musicians play during the ceremony & cocktail hour), dance floor lighting, and a custom monogram for $550! Almost everyone else I talked to were around $1,600 for the same package, but our DJ lives in a very small town outside of the metro area so that's why he's a lot less expensive. He's still great, though!

My experience is unique I think - I found a guy through a budget bride facebook group based in my area, and he did my ceremony and reception (about 5 hours) for $425. He DJs as a side gig, and has done it for like 20+ years. He worked out perfectly - played the right songs at the right times.

We booked ours for five hours total time and a photobooth. So altogether it was a only $600 which I thought was a steak. He also had lights.

600$ for 6 hrs. Northern, VA. It's a family discount since the DJ knows my fiance's dad.

We're paying $2000, for pre-ceremony/ceremony music, 5 hours reception with MC duties, uplighting of the reception space, monogram, clouds, and a photo booth. It's kind of expensive, but this part of the wedding was VERY important to us. Also, we are getting a lot for that price, and I have personal knowledge that this DJ will get the party going, and keep it going all night long!! He is a friend of my daughter's, and we have seen him in action already at fund raisers. He's really great!!

If anyone in the SF Bay Area is looking for a great DJ, check out Murphy's Bay Area DJs.
