DJ Consultation

I used a combination of the following two DJ questionnaires when we picked out our DJ: http://www.herecomestheguide.com/images/main/QADJEntertainment.pdf and http://mydeejay.com/wedding-advice/questions-to-ask-a-dj-wedding. Some of those questions I didn't really care about, and some I did, so I just went through and made a list of the questions I wanted to ask. Some of the ones I really wanted to ask: Do they have liability insurance? Will I meet my actual DJ in advance? What if my DJ is sick/can't make it to the wedding, is there a backup? Can we have a Do Not Play list?

Do they have backup equipment?

If it is a larger company are you able to meet the DJ that will be sent out?

How many hours are included?

The important thing to me was to have a DJ that had a fun but not strange personality. I didn't want someone that was going to be awkward on the mic.

The main ones I asked were... are you the one that will personally be DJ-ing my wedding? If so, do you have a backup if you're unable to do it? What equipment do you use (is a subwoofer included)? How are requests handled before the wedding day (online planning tool, paper list, etc.) How do you handle requests during the wedding? What is included in your package (what kind of dance floor lighting), and finally How many hours does your package include and is set-up/takedown included in those hours?

Yup these are all excellent questions. I send all my brides that link before meeting with them. Back up equipment, what happens if you cant make it and the trick question can I see you DJ at a wedding. (the answer should be no)
