Do they have a social media account (FB, SoundCloud, IG) where you can either see or here their DJ styles?

I'd set a budget for your max to spend & a list of things you need. For us, we need them for 6 hours and no less, probably more because they have to set up. They need to provide microphones for the reception & one for the ceremony. We need them to be able to read a crowd, but not be overwhelming & cheesy. We like a mix of country music & club music, so that was important to us too.

Yeah so I would just make sure they are familiar with the genre & maybe even speak a little Spanish? Our DJ is a country dance instructor on the side, so that was helpful for our decision.

I agree with the others here. You could narrow down your options perhaps by checking out some of their prior work, taking into account your budget & what they're charging, and also inquiring about if they are familiar with the genre you're looking for.

How many have you been in-contact with? As you could follow up and ask about genre more specifically.
