Dj charges $300 as commute fee???

The Dj we are trying to book wants $300 for travel which include tolls and car rental. But why should I e responsible for that? I will definetly try to talk him down. Its 29 miles to get to my reception place from his place. I mean come on. Whats your opinion? Thanks

    I found my DJ in the area where I'm getting married. If you already signed with this person they should have discussed this in your contract.

    Car rental is absolutely ridiculous! 29 miles is not a lot

    Yikes! Thats pricey! My dj is traveling 60miles each way, total of 120 miles round trip and he's charging us $90. We're in Texas, not sure if that spikes the price on your quote but that's very high IMO. Now i dont feel to bad paying the $90.

    Yea, thats what I thought its crazy, i will definetely bring that up to him. He sounds like a good Dj, so I wouldnt want to let him go, but not paying for his fees like that. Thanks everyone for your answers

    Find a local dj in the area, unless you know how good he is, then that might be a sacrifice you have to make

    Im paying $185 for my photographer to travel almost 5 hours. Definately too high of a price. Tell him youll give him $1 a mile and tolls. That's more than fair- if he still doesnt agree, find a new DJ.

    I've seen this but only for out of state wedding over 90 miles away .. this seems extreme
