dj announcements

Haley, on March 23, 2019 at 3:49 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 7

When having the DJ announce the wedding party coming into the reception hall, do you use your formal name or can you use the names people actually call you? because I have a lot of people in my wedding that doesn't use their real names and probably would like to use their nicknames better.

I would say you can do it anyway you want since it’s your wedding. I’m asking my bridal party how they want to be introduced and giving that to the DJ

Use the names they go by! Everyone will be a little more comfortable and a little less awkward Smiley smile

For the introductions we are using nicknames, but for the programs we are using their proper names. However, we really only have 1 person that goes by a nickname. His name is Joseph and he goes by Joey.

    As a former DJ:

Have someone who isn’t crucial to the wedding but knows all the players in the area where the bridal party is lined up- remember your DJ DOES NOT know these people!- so that the correct people go into the room with the correct names.

That being said what do they wish to be called? Jennifer Jones Or Jenny Jones? What do most people know her as?
Also is it a hard name to pronounce? Like my last name Ransier, pronounces: Ran-sear of so spell it phonetically so the DJ doesn’t get it wrong.

Usually it’s Jenny Jones escorted by Micheal Adams.
